🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
Possibly Yellow Transparent. 2014 had a large yeild with great fruit.
Tree sits on abandoned (as of 2014) lot.
edit (spring 2015): idiot neighbors cut some of the trees down, so none have no fruited the last few years (apples need more than one tree in flower for fruit), though some of the stumps are re-growing, and may bud this year, allowing remaining tree to grow fruit.
I think the fruits were red, iirc... it has been since Fall of 2012 or 2013 they were fruiting. When the trees fruited, they were some of the best I had ever had.
