🔍 When is it ripe?
Large, yellow to pale orange. Heavy for its size; skin slightly smooth rather than puffy. Can hang on the tree for months once coloured. Taste is the best test — should be sweet-tart, not bitter.
Grapefruit tree is usually loaded and grapefruit ends up all over the ground. The tree comes right up to the sidewalk but is rooted on private property so check with the owners first.
