Blueberry

📍 323 W Main St, Boalsburg, PA 16827, USA
Blueberry Private
🗓 Season: July · August
🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep blue-purple with a silvery bloom; stem scar (not stem) at the top. Taste is the best test — a truly ripe blueberry is sweet and has no pink flesh inside. Let the cluster go fully blue before picking the whole thing.
There are some feral cultivated blueberries along one section of the trails in this area at the Boal Mansion Museum. The folks at the museum don't want people harvesting loads of fruit to take home but this is a good place to snack on some fruit during a easy walk.
