🔍 When is it ripe?
Small apples ripen from green to red, yellow, or orange by variety. Very tart raw but excellent for jelly and cider. Ripe when the colour is fully developed and the fruit lifts off with a gentle twist.
Four plum trees about twenty year old and badly managed Subsequent visitor's note: I went to the location and could not find the tree. In the marked location, there were a number of apple trees with less than golf-ball sized apples - very tasty, but I don't know what you can do with such small apples. Further Note: crabapples ripen in mid August, excellent for jammaking.
