🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep red and glossy; stem pulls cleanly. Taste is the best test — sweet and juicy when ripe, still astringent if picked too early.
Via the UIC Tree Inventory: "Good condition, mature." Maintained by UIC greenhouse and the small amount of fruit is always picked by the workers there. The tree is on UIC Greenhouse grounds and there is a fence. Not a viable foraging tree!
