🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
In alley between Detroit and Clayton and between 13th and 14th (closer to 14th) on west side of alley. Last year the apples seemed big enough to dent the cars parked under the tree.
