🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep purple with a dusty bloom when ripe. Flesh softens and detaches cleanly from the stone. Sweet, rich flavour. Drops to the ground when fully ripe — check beneath the tree daily.
American plum tree. One branch overhangs the sidewalk and drops dozens of delicious plums.
EDIT: As of 2019 the owner finally pruned the tree. The fruit will probably not fall on the sidewalk.
Harvest ONLY on public property– the police headquarters is literally a block away.
