🔍 When is it ripe?
Dark blue-black clusters when ripe. Cook thoroughly before eating — raw berries are mildly toxic. Ripe when all berries are dark and clusters hang downward.
Several smaller elders along boardwalk, very close to being ripe as of 7/22/17. Easy to hand harvest, were sweet enough to actually eat fresh.
