🔍 When is it ripe?
Small apples ripen from green to red, yellow, or orange by variety. Very tart raw but excellent for jelly and cider. Ripe when the colour is fully developed and the fruit lifts off with a gentle twist.
Several mature crab apple trees along the stretch of road near the pond. Trees farther from the street can be a little tricky to get to due to slopes/uneven ground and undergrowth.
