🔍 When is it ripe?
Harvest when clusters turn from yellow to amber (rutab stage) and fruits soften. Dark, wrinkled dates (tamr stage) are fully cured on the tree or dried afterwards.
The two dates palm are on the grass. The dates are to high to pick without a ladder. However, if you want be more casual, there is plenty of unripe fruits tha fall in the grass. Unripe dates are orange and taste pretty bad, but you can easily ripen that at home by putting them onto a tray and keeping at room temperature. Eat when they are brown and wrinkly (it takes maximum one month in the winter, probably way less if you put them in a sunny place)
