🔍 When is it ripe?
Elongated green husks turn brown-black and fall. Wear gloves — stains like black walnut. Cure for 2–3 weeks. Mild, oily, and buttery — not as strong as black walnut.
Sadly she won't be with us for much longer...She has the fungus and it's taken over large portions of her trunk. These poor beautiful trees are likely to go extinct in the next decade or so.
