🔍 When is it ripe?
Harvest when the green husk turns yellow-green and the nut falls naturally or can be shaken loose. Wear gloves — the husk stains permanently. Remove husk immediately, then cure nuts in a cool, airy place for 2–3 weeks before cracking. Intensely flavoured.
Tree doesn’t seem to be in very good condition. Many of the lower leaves are gone and I don’t see any remains of fruit. This tree is accessible from all sides as it sits in a mowed field.
