🔍 When is it ripe?
Dark blue-black berries on red stalks. Edible but rarely used. The bark and roots (root beer flavour) contain safrole — regulated. Young leaves can be dried and ground as filé powder for gumbo.
Dozen or so saplings at the edge of the parking lot at the exact location of the pin. Sensitive to overharvesting. Private shopping complex, but collection should be no issue is discrete.
