🔍 When is it ripe?
The green husk splits into four sections and turns brown when ripe. Shake branches or wait for fall. Cure in a cool, dry place for 2–3 weeks. Kernels should be full and not shrivelled.
Not exact location. Pecans and burr oaks throughout this neighborhood along road/sidewalks. Most of the pecans are smaller with thicker shells, but tasty. 2015 has been a good producing year in San Marcos and Marble Falls.
