🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep blue-purple with a silvery bloom; stem scar (not stem) at the top. Taste is the best test — a truly ripe blueberry is sweet and has no pink flesh inside. Let the cluster go fully blue before picking the whole thing.
Small wild variety. Thick across forest floor throughout woods all through the area. Do NOT eat while picking. They must be thoroughly washed and preferably cooked due to a band worm carried by foxes in this region.
