🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
Heavily laden apple (?) on the N side of 20 a bit E of the Mayflower rotary/roundabout. Couldn't stop to check it out, but looks promising. Looked like green apples, but could've even been a pear; didn't get a good look.
