🔍 When is it ripe?
Red or black (Aronia) berries. Very astringent and tart raw — high in antioxidants. Best dried, juiced, or made into jam. Ripe when fully coloured and slightly soft.
heaps of aronia berries around the buildings in the lakeshore dorm area. the bushes along the north side of Kronshage drive here get excellent sun and produce very well. There are literally hundreds of Aronia bushes on campus ready for harvest in ~september - November.
